Say What You Need To Say
In the evening I met S to watch “L’auberge espagnole” in the cinema. LE is a pretty unusual movie because there is not one language but about a dozen, French, German, Spanish, Swedish, Italian. There were subtitles about 90% of the time which took a little bit time to get used to but after 120 minutes you didn’t notice them anymore. The plot deals with a French guy who is going to live in Barcelona for a year to learn Spanish there. He comes to live in a multicultural flat share with lots of other Erasmus students and the story follows their trials and tribulations in the course of the year. It was funny mostly and there was even a lesbian subplot which was done quite nicely, but there were also some lengths in it and pretty heavy philosophical discussions which didn’t always seem to fit. Besides there were some meaningless subplots which lead to nowhere, but I guess if they did, the movie would go on forever. Anyway, 4 out 6 Meeps.
