Say What You Need To Say
Warning: Corrs rant!
Can you believe this! Not only have the Corrs released “Old town” as a single, which has already been a single from “Unplugged”, now they are crowning this effort with one of the worst music videos I have ever seen. They simply mixed scenes from “Unplugged” and “Live in London”, and that’s it. The first was recorded in 1999, the latter in 2000, and apart from the second one also being a completely different version because the violin replaced the trumpet, they both sound nothing like the topical studio version (which, incidentally, doesn’t sound so great either). I can’t believe that this band is sabotaging themselves like that, no one (that is, no music channel) is going to play such a lame-ass video!
Sure Caroline said they just wanted to do this album, not because they had to – but tell me how long will you have this luxury if you are deliberately producing albums and don’t mind how they sell? I also haven’t seen a lot of the promised promotion that allegedly has started two weeks ago. One air play on BBC radio 2 and that’s enough, eh? *screams in frustration* For f***’s sake, get the hell started with “Home”!
I can’t really explain why I’m so upset about the catastrophe that promotion for “Home” is right now. From having heard the new songs, I know I will like (if not even love) the album, and I just wish it was successful here. However, at the moment I can’t see that happening and it makes me a bit sad. They are a good band. I think I just want to blame somebody for this utter lack of support.
