Planet Meep & Sons

Wednesday, July 26th, 2006

Within a few hours of its release, I had already ordered “The Bridge” (starring Andrea Corr). The online form you had to fill out for the order wouldn’t let me finish without giving a company name, and thinking it wouldn’t matter, I wrote “Planet Meep”. Today the parcel arrived:

WaT I want

Finally, the third season of “Without a trace” on DVD is available in Germany, and even better, you can rent it via Amazon :D. 955 minutes of Poppy Montgomery - I’m a happy camper now :cute:.

Care to be a little more specific?

“It does progress, but with it comes a lot of drama. A lot of drama.”

(Gabrielle Christian in an interview with Afterellen.com)

In other news, the earth is still moving. But seriously, like waiting three more months for the second season of “South of Nowhere” isn’t hard enough already… at least now we know that “a lot of drama” is going to happen. This is about as helpful as saying that the sun shines, or a pen writes. It’s a drama series - of course there’s going to be drama !

Don’t let the above rant let distract you from the fact I’m quite besotted with this teen show - I’m about 10 years too old to be actually watching it, so what :P? I’m still a big fan of Spashley, as the uber-cute couple of Spencer and Ashley is tenderly called among fans, and I’m very interested in how their saga continues. When is it October 6th again ;)?

Culture clash, interrupted

Sunday, July 16th, 2006

Yesterday, a big GLBT party took place in the Konzil, which is a huge building with halls you can rent for any kind of events. And guess what other party was held at the same time? A Turkish wedding :D! The approximately 20 kids running around the hallways were all going completely hyper when a 6.5 feet man in a black dress & stilettos walked by, hehe. And to top it all, both parties had to share bathrooms: trucker lesbians next to cloaked Turkish grannies - talk about a clash of cultures *gg*.

Are you Lost?

Thursday, July 13th, 2006

I recently caught a random episode of “Lost” on TV and thought maybe it was worth a closer look. A 9-episode-marathon later…

Because there is no such thing as too much promotion

It’s just a few days until the short movie “The Bridge”, written and directed by Richard Raymond and starring Andrea Corr and Leonard Fenton, will be released on July 17th, 2006.

Andrea Corr in 'The Bridge'

Andrea plays Mary, a nurse who has been shocked by the suicide of a patient, which also caused her to get fired. Then one night she gets a phone call from an old man called Simon. Having just lost his wife of 50 years, Simon is standing on a bridge, ready to say goodbye to this life. Mary tries desperately to find him before it may be too late for the both of them…

“The Bridge” has been shown at the film festivals of Cannes and Toronto in 2005, both with very satisfying results. It will be available as an online stream (for £2.99 ~ €4.32 ~ $5.52) and a region-free DVD (for £7.99 ~ €11.55 ~ $14.71). Help spread the word, “The Bridge” is worth it!

Visit Richard Raymond’s homepage for more information, view the trailer and get more info, including pictures, on Planet Corr.

Talk about a generation gap

While trying out a new, rather curly hairstyle for my sister’s wedding (which by the way was much less “My Big Sister’s Fat Non-Greek Wedding” and more “Nothing Important Happened Today”), I ended up with something very ABBA-esque - read: 70s blow-dryer wavy. I mentioned this to both my Mum and Dad, and all I earned were blank stares: my parents don’t know ABBA!
