It appears as if “Broken Thread”, starring the lovely Andrea Corr, will be shown at the Berlin Film Festival aka Berlinale! At least that’s what the schedule says, however I’m a bit bummed it’s not a public screening :(. Not that I could have attended, anyway… let’s hope “Broken Thread” is finally picked up and gets a release date. So far, next to nothing is known about it except that Andrea plays a mysterious woman called Lily who haunts an Indian man who is having some “spiritual crisis” (the film company’s words, not mine).
It’s been a few weeks since FX’s new hyped show “Dirt” has premiered, and the main reason I have been looking forward to it was Carly Pope. The show itself is okay but nowhere as good as other FX offerings like “Nip/Tuck”. Courtney Cox does a good job at portraying bitchy editor Lucy Spiller and the stories are surprisingly interwoven for just four episodes, so maybe “Dirt” has a chance to finish its first season after all. If it’s lucky, it may even get renewed - and I’m all for it if Carly Pope is in it ;). Here are a few clips of her stint as lesbian drug dealer Garbo:
He looks a bit like the lovechild of Chris Martin and Monty Python’s Eric Idle, but what really makes you notice him is his incredible voice: James Morrison may only be 21, however he sounds like he has already spent quite some time boozing and smoking a least 60 cigarettes a day. And that’s a good thing! Once you heard him, you won’t forget him, that is the magic of James Morrison…
…or The Gay Slur That Just Wouldn’t Die - Isaiah Washington made things a lot worse when he referred to this whole mess yet again at the Golden Globes. And outright denied he ever called his co-star T.R. Knight a “faggot”, which in turn caused Knight to set things right at the Ellen DeGeneres show:
I may not have been very thrilled with the movie “Happy Feet” itself, but I sure enjoyed the music. Even better then that Prince received a Golden Globe for “Song of the Heart” from the same movie. Enjoy!
I don’t know how familiar you are with zeppelins, but since I live in the hometown of Count Zeppelin, I see them flying quite often - yes, they are still (or rather, again) air-borne.
I’ve been having trouble accessing my main e-mail account at 1&1 all day, and it drives me insane! Thunderbird tells me there are messages, but it can’t retrieve them - the same with the webmail interface. Does anybody else have this problem or is it just me? And if you want to reach me today, either use the Yahoo! address or this blog, thanks!
I have very mixed feelings about “The L Word” - I compliantly watched seasons 1 and 2, since I thought I kind of had to, being a lesbian and all ;). While I enjoyed some of it, I wouldn’t really call myself a fan, especially not of the trainwreck that was the third season. I stopped watching mid-season because I couldn’t bring myself to care any more about any of these characters and I wasn’t happy with any of their stories. Now however…
Movie of the week: “Happy Feet” SPOILERS!
