Re-runs are a good thing

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

At least sometimes. I caught a Cold Case episode I had seen before called “Debut”, and now I realized why that actress had seemed strangely familiar: I had seen Elizabeth Hendrickson on “All My Children” before. More specifically, all the clips of BAM! but even on YouTube, you can see she’s pretty hot:

The best bits in life are free

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

In attempt to be better (hello, belated New Year’s resolution), I’ve gone on a hunt for freeware programs. After some searching, I’m quite happy with the result: 98% of the programs I use now are officially free!*

I’ll say!

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

How I could overlook John Mayer’s new single “Say” until now (it’s been released in November 2007!), I don’t know. What I *do* know though is that I absolutely love, love, love it now that I’ve listened to it nonstop for two hours! Check it out on John Mayer’s official website…

I Am Lackluster

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

Note to self: always read at least one sentence summary of any movie you’re going to watch: Years after a plague kills most of humanity and transforms the rest into monsters, the sole survivor in New York City struggles valiantly to find a cure.

Don’t be the Last.fm to know

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

I really like Last.fm, I think the idea is fantastic. I even have a profile but it hasn’t been active for a long time. The problem I have with it is that the scrobbling software forever crashes my Winamp and if it doesn’t do that, it doesn’t really scrobble. So I’ve had an on-again, off-again relationship with “the social music revolution”. But it might be time to spend a lot more time at Last.fm again because now they offer full length songs to listen to! I’m off to get to know not only the charts but lots of unknown artists and songs: I’m excited!

Go away, come back

My top 20 list of breakup songs (and no, they are not all whiny ballads :p!)

And if you’re curious to what they sound like - give Mucelli a try, where you can listen to loads of songs for free.

A Kiss is just a Kiss

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

A while ago, I already drew your attention to “Gray matters”, a romantic comedy about “a sister, a brother and the girl of their dreams”. Now that I’ve finally seen it, of course I can’t keep myself from commenting on the matters at hand (sorry for bad pun!) - SPOILERS!

This little boy’s brain

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

I’m acquiring new favorite songs at a speed that is truly alarming at the moment - but I guess that’s for your benefit ;)… So here it goes: The Wombats “Let’s dance to Joy Division” (in a proper Liverpudlian accent of course ;)):

Oh FileZilla, where hast thou gone?

Saturday, January 12th, 2008

Another example of why it’s always a good idea to not listen to those pesky “Update now!” messages: FileZilla is an Open Source FTP program and so far has always been simple to use, reliable and highly tweakable. New release candidate 3.0.4.1 takes care of all three things and blasts them into oblivion faster than you can say “Hey, where did my connection go?”.

More Feedback please

Sunday, January 6th, 2008

Apart from being a drastic example of the yo-yo effect in between projects, Janet Jackson also manages to come up with some catchy songs. Latest example: her single “Feedback”, to which you can listen on her official website. Enjoy!
