…that this is actually a good idea. The trailer for the upcoming second X-Files movie “I want to believe” however, makes things a little hard in that department: is it just me or does this not seem particularly cutting edge?
Why Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull wasn’t worth the wait - SPOILERS!
I have recently watched “La Reine Margot”(Queen Margot) which I can only recommend to anyone into long, bloody costume dramas. And also to fans of Isabelle Adjani, who looks like Snow White re-incarnate: long black hair, blue eyes, red lips and pale skin. Here’s the proof:
Or more precisely, vote! Today’s poll question on the IMDB is “What do you think of the title for the new X-Files movie — The X-Files: I Want to Believe?”. Not that the powers that be are going to change anything but I still think it can’t hurt to let them know what you think. Let’s just say I chose the third option… why they would choose a title with so much history when apparently it is not a mythology movie? Seems to me someone tried hard to bring the mysterious back ;)!

I’m very happy to report that finally the original “Mädchen in Uniform” is going to be released on DVD in April 2008. So far, the movie from 1931 has only been available on tape in German with English subtitles. The cover art is a bit weird, showing just Hertha Thiele as Manuela, or more precisely, her head:
You’ve certainly read all about this year’s winners and losers (no surprises as far as I’m concerned…) so now let’s discuss what everyone really wants to know: who did a major fashion faux-pas, who looked good, who should have looked in the mirror before leaving the house and who should have listened to the tiny voices in their ears saying “orange is not your colour!”. I present thee - the Oscar arrivals!
Note to self: always read at least one sentence summary of any movie you’re going to watch: Years after a plague kills most of humanity and transforms the rest into monsters, the sole survivor in New York City struggles valiantly to find a cure.
A while ago, I already drew your attention to “Gray matters”, a romantic comedy about “a sister, a brother and the girl of their dreams”. Now that I’ve finally seen it, of course I can’t keep myself from commenting on the matters at hand (sorry for bad pun!) - SPOILERS!
Sometimes it’s better not to get what you wish for: I had high hopes for”Loving Annabelle”, a lesbian movie that is generally described as “Girls in Uniform, today”: a student and a teacher fall in love with each other at a Catholic boarding school. Finally this movie has been released in Germany, and since I’m a big fan of the (semi-)original, I was really excited about it. Well, no more.
