One word: lips . If “Sky Captain and the world of tomorrow” is only half as cheesy as the title suggests, it’s still going to be pretty silly. Angelina looks kind of Nazi in her costume but I love the eye patch !

Saw “My big fat greek wedding” today, it was hilarious. And it made me crave Greek food really bad . All in all 5 Meeps out of 6, so maybe I’ll write a review for it later.

I endured all 4 hours of the Oscars, though I wasn’t curious enough to do so live (which would have meant getting up at 2AM!) and good thing that because that way, I could fast forward through all eleven Oscars for LotR3. In the evening I met S to watch “L’auberge espagnole” in the cinema. LE is a pretty unusual movie because there is not one language but about a dozen, French, German, Spanish, Swedish, Italian. There were subtitles about 90% of the time which took a little bit time to get used to but after 120 [...]

I’ll spare y’all from yet another oh so clever pun with the word “actually” and just tell you the important thing: “Love, actually” rocks ! Rarely have I enjoyed a movie this much, in fact it was pretty much the most enjoyable movie of this year, Hugh Grant and all . All (!) [...]

Hehe, I’ve been amusing myself with “Finding Nemo” sound snippets of Dory (”Bad squishy!”), and if I find the time this weekend, I’ll put them on Planet Meep. Ellen DeGeneres did a really magnificent job with that role, she’s absolutely perfect for it. One of the many reasons I ♥ “Finding Nemo” so much!

Woohoo, my “Tipping the Velvet”-DVD arrived today ! You can find out more about this excellent lesbian drama based on the novel by Sarah Waters at the BBC.

Movie of the week was “Luther” – one word: avoid. The story lacks structure, there is no climax and the movie makes more than once the mistake of not showing us important scenes (like Luther’s reaction to Brother Ulrich’s death, which would have been a good motivation, or the reading of the confession in front [...]

Saw “Tipping the Velvet” yesterday which is sooo cool! It’s set in the 1880s and tells the story of Nan, an oyster girl who falls in love with the male impersonator Kitty and follows her to London. I went to the cinema, “Matrix: Revolutions”, and as I was so disappointed, it’ll get a paragraph just for itself. Spoilers – don’t read further if you don’t want to know what happens!

I went to see “Intolerable cruelty” on Tuesday. Which is a nice movie, pretty fluffy and sometimes also pretty silly (overacting much, Mr. Clooney?), Catherine Zeta-Jones looks really good though both T. and me concluded she really shouldn’t wear yellow (fashion-wise a big no-no, was she pregnant when they shot the movie?), and the story [...]

Tomorrow is “Intolerable Cruelty”, and hopefully this will make up for all horrible Quentin Tarantino movies lately (actually it was just one, but the thought counts- I’ll be a QT-free zone in the future if possible).
