The wonders of YouTube make it possible for me to finally take a closer look at something I have only read about so far: “All my children”’s lesbian storyline, centering around Bianca (Eden Riegel).
Grey’s Anatomy star T.R. Knight has confirmed he is gay. The actor, who plays unassuming Dr. George O’Malley on the hit series, decided to go public after rumors began surfacing about his sexuality. Knight confirms to American publication People, “I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I’d like to quiet any unnecessary rumours that may be out there. While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I’m gay isn’t the most interesting part of me.”
Media reports have suggested that Knight was forced to make an official statement after details of a fight between co-stars Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey became public. According to the National Enquirer, the two got into a fight while Filming the show last week and Washington allegedly yelled to Dempsey, “I’m not your little f****t like (name deleted).” The publication said they withheld printing the actual name of the co-star Washington mentioned “because of the extreme nature of the slur.”

First of all, yay for T.R. Knight for coming out - America can need every out gay actor it can get :P.
Second, I didn’t have any opinion on Isaiah Washington before all this ruckus other than that I liked his character Dr. Burke on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. Since the source is the National Enquirer, the story should be taken with a grain of salt - however Kate Walsh has confirmed the fight really took place. Is it any wonder my opinion of Isaiah Washington has changed to a**hole, whereas Patrick Dempsey suddenly has gained a lot of sympathy points? Didn’t think so.
Thirdly, the media coverage seems to imply that calling someone a “f****t” (don’t you love the creative use of stars :P?) is indeed a severe insult. I’m wondering whether this is because calling a straight man gay is calling him all kinds of nasty things, or whether calling a gay man that is in fact profound abuse? I sure hope the latter…
Yesterday, a big GLBT party took place in the Konzil, which is a huge building with halls you can rent for any kind of events. And guess what other party was held at the same time? A Turkish wedding :D! The approximately 20 kids running around the hallways were all going completely hyper when a 6.5 feet man in a black dress & stilettos walked by, hehe. And to top it all, both parties had to share bathrooms: trucker lesbians next to cloaked Turkish grannies - talk about a clash of cultures *gg*.
Movie of the week: “Brokeback Mountain” SPOILERS!
