While sifting through lots of movies that may or may not be suitable for our next GLBT film festival, I’ve come across “Reefer madness”. It’s a hilarious movie based on an Off-Broadway musical, which in turn is based on an old movie (aka “Tell your children”) from the 1930s supposed to demonstrate the dangers of smoking marijuana - including cackling, having a huge appetite and framing people for murder ;).

Because there is no such thing as too much promotion

Tuesday, July 11th, 2006

It’s just a few days until the short movie “The Bridge”, written and directed by Richard Raymond and starring Andrea Corr and Leonard Fenton, will be released on July 17th, 2006.

Andrea Corr in 'The Bridge'

Andrea plays Mary, a nurse who has been shocked by the suicide of a patient, which also caused her to get fired. Then one night she gets a phone call from an old man called Simon. Having just lost his wife of 50 years, Simon is standing on a bridge, ready to say goodbye to this life. Mary tries desperately to find him before it may be too late for the both of them…

“The Bridge” has been shown at the film festivals of Cannes and Toronto in 2005, both with very satisfying results. It will be available as an online stream (for £2.99 ~ €4.32 ~ $5.52) and a region-free DVD (for £7.99 ~ €11.55 ~ $14.71). Help spread the word, “The Bridge” is worth it!

Visit Richard Raymond’s homepage for more information, view the trailer and get more info, including pictures, on Planet Corr.
